About This Spot

Stepping into ANNACHIKADAI feels like uncovering a quiet, authentic corner of Tamil Nadu right in the heart of Pleasanton. The pace here is gentle, unhurried—a place where the focus is really on savoring good company and the soulful comfort of regional Indian flavors. The modest setting invites you to leave behind the day’s rush and settle into a warm embrace of familiar aromas and subtle spices.

The atmosphere carries a sense of community, where the kind and welcoming staff make you feel like more than just a visitor—they become part of a shared experience. It’s the kind of spot where locals return time and again, drawn by the genuine care in every dish and the unassuming charm that fills the space.

Food here reflects a thoughtful devotion to tradition and freshness. The banana leaf rice and curries, for instance, offer a layered taste of home, each bite telling a story of careful preparation and regional heritage. Whether you’re indulging in a vibrant Festival Thali or discovering the crisp, comforting textures of a masala dosa, the flavors are consistently inviting and balanced with a gentle hand. The meals carry a homemade quality—rich with clarified butter and nuanced spices—that feel both nourishing and memorable.

ANNACHIKADAI’s menu reveals a heartfelt connection to Tamil Nadu’s culinary roots, from the delicate idiyappam kurma to the robust, tangy fish curry served alongside soft paratha. Even the drinks, like the cooling Nannari Sharbath or the subtly spiced masala tea, provide quiet moments of refreshment, complementing the dishes in understated ways.

While a few dishes may challenge expectations with the occasional firmer texture or a touch of salt, these moments feel human, reminding you that this is a place grounded in real kitchen rhythms, not perfection on a plate. The overall impression is one of honest, heartfelt cooking—food made to sustain and please without pretense.

For those who appreciate a welcoming, relaxed environment paired with genuinely good Tamil Nadu fare, ANNACHIKADAI offers a quietly joyful discovery—an experience rich with warmth and familiar flavors, inviting you to return and explore its culinary layers time after time.

We placed a last-minute order for 4 families and went with the quantity what chef suggessted, we were absolutely thrilled with the results! The non-vegetarian dishes were so tasty, it's been a long time since we've had food this delicious. Everything tasted fresh, perfectly seasoned, and was a huge hit with our friends. Thank you for delivering such a high-quality meal on short notice. We truly enjoyed it!

We ordered 2 combos, idly with chicken curry and dosa with chicken curry. The idly was soft and moist. The dosa was thicker than the picture and it was tasty. Chicken curry was good also and spicy. Great deal for lunch.

very delicious food!!! don’t overlook this place just because it’s next to mylapore; food is just as good if not better, and cheap also. food tasted extremely fresh, homemade, and you can taste the ghee cooked into everything. very very pleasantly surprised with this!!! delicious veg food for good price.

Trustworthy place to try authentic Tamil Nadu style food. Vegetarian options are also good. We tried vegetation meals, parota and veg biryani. Meal was scrumptious, veg biryani was also tasty. But the parota was too hard and the chalna was a bit salty as well. But overall if you go with hunger, the meals are the ones you should try.

We had dinner here for the first time and had a good experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming, with quick service. We ordered Mysore masala dosa and idli with chutney. The idlis were soft, and the chutney and sambar were excellent. The dosa was crispy, but the Mysore masala filling could have been more prominent. Overall, a pleasant visit, and we look forward to trying other dishes next time.
